FIDIC Welcome Reception Cocktail Dinner

Description: Planned and built from 1797 to 1813 by the Valencian sculptor and architect Manuel Tolsá. The Mining Palace is considered as the master piece of Latin American Neoclassicism and one of the capitals most beautiful buildings. It was built as a school for mining in order to academically train miners from 1813. The majestic monument is full of class where every wall, space, stairs and light show brilliance and elegance, it is one of the most important constructions within Mexican architecture. It is part of the artistic and cultural heritage of the National Autonomous University of Mexico and is under the protection of the Faculty of Engineering. Nowadays it is occasionally used for concerts, exhibition and other cultural events.
