Exploring the Historical Downtown in Mexico City is like entering a time machine, in which you will travel almost 1000 years back to see the past greatness of the Aztec Empire, as well as historical buildings from the Spanish conquest times such as the National Palace, constructed under the direction of the “Conquistador“ Hernan Cortes. You will admire the murals of Diego Rivera, which tell us the history of Mexico through the Centuries, the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Fine Arts Palace. It is a concert hall which also houses paintings of the greatest painters of Mexico such as Diego Rivera, José Clemente Orozco, Rufino Tamayo, David Alfaro Siqueiros and Jorge González Camarena.

Visit the Chapultepec Castle. This beautiful castle was, during the Colonial Times, the house of the emperors Carlota and Maximilian. Now it is a museum and holds a very important part of the Mexican History. The tour continues with a visit of the most important museum in Mexico, the Anthropology Museum, where you can admire the most fantastic archeological pieces from all the different cultures that settled down in Mesoamerica, such as the Aztec Calendar, The Giants from Tula, The Quetzal Feathers Crown of the Aztec Emperor Moctezuma, the Olmec Heads and the Tomb of Pakal, King of Palenque and many more.

Visit Coyoacán, one of the nicest colonial neighborhoods in the city. Walk along its cobblestone streets and pass by the first house of Cortés, which used to belong to his indigenous wife “Malitzin”. Short visit to San Juan Bautista Church.

Right after, the tour continues to Xochimilco, an amazing place with a great atmosphere, due to the traditional practices carried out there. You will see the remains of Texcoco Lake as it was in Pre-Hispanic Times. We’ll have a boat trip over what is called a “Trajinera”. There, typical Mexican Lunch will be provided, while you will enjoy famous Mariachi music.

Visit Puebla de los Angeles, located about 100 km east from Mexico City. On the way, you can see the Popocatepetl Volcano. Puebla has preserved its religious structure from the 16th-17th centuries. You can see it at the Cathedral, the Archbishop´s palaces, the House of Azulejos etc. Here, you will try one of the most delicious Mexican dishes “El Mole”.  We will also visit Cholula where the biggest archeological structure (temple) in whole Mesoamerica was found.

Departure to visit Querétaro City, world heritage by UNESCO. A beautiful colonial city where you will visit the Aqueduct and the downtown area. Free time for lunch. Departure to San Miguel de Allende,  place of residence for artist and intellectuals. Here you will visit the famous San Michael Archangel the gothic parish, símbolo of the city.  Santa Rosa Chapel, Conception Ex-Convent, San Francis Church and Allende institute which is one of the most important cultural and educational center. Afternoon at leasure. Night at San Miguel de Allende.

2nd day, departure to Dolores Hidalgo a little town where Miguel Hidalgo started the independence of Mexico in 1810th. We continue to Guanajuato City, another world heritage by UNESCO. It is the location for the Cervantino international festival. Walking tour on some of the most important streets, that offers places like Juaréz Theatre, The local University, the famous “callejón del beso” (kiss alleway).  You will also visit a silver mine where you will learn how the working conditions were at the mines during the 17th and 18th in Mexico. We continue the visit to the remarkable mummy’s museum, where you will see how, due to the land conditions and minerals,

a natural momification over the bodies at the cemetery took place.  At night you will participate in an Callejoneada (alleyway). This is a kind of walking tour, accompanied by a group of musicians called “estudiantinas”, who will sing for us, beautiful serenades songs while we go walking and drinking some wine.

We’ll travel to Cuernavaca (The place of the eternal spring). This is where Hernan Cortes has built one of the most beautiful haciendas. Continue to Taxco, better known as the Silver City. This is one of the nicest colonial towns, in which you can admire the Santa Prisca Church, considered as one of the most beautiful examples of the Baroque style in Mexico. You will also walk along its cobblestone streets, where you can find more than 100 silver shops with amazing silver jewelry, incredible works of art.

After spending the night in Taxco, we will travel to Acapulco the following day to enjoy the sun and the beautiful beaches and bays. We will visit La Quebrada, where we can see the famous cliff divers.
